I ducked out of the office at lunchtime & visited this historic cottage. I am not sure I had the lens that has captured what I was after, or if I chose an interesting enough POV, so if you have any suggestions at all fire away!
It is an interesting shot with amazing textures, how cool would it have been to have a splash of colour? Although I love all the textures my eye doesn't know where to look, it would be good to have something that stands out amongst the textures
@monika64 that is exactly my summary of the 'issues' ! There is no key area of interest so the eye just wanders around.. The galvanised iron was a cacky bluish, so I thought that really did not work either. I think I was rushing (?? to get back to work??) & did not consider the exposure sufficiently. Oh well, with so many things not going to plan, I guess it makes it easier to improve the shot next time :)
My eyes wander but they keep coming back to the padlock and that circle that looks like it's holding that band on the... what is that? A cauldron? I love this pic! Makes me think of the Salem witch trials, and The Scarlet Letter, and Hansel and Gretel....and it makes me curious.
I do like this a lot, a lot going on in it but that's only good in my book! A splash of red or green or even a black handbag might work but not to sure at all...
