My last entry for the get-pushed challenge to tempt Miss Mercy with shiny pretty things - "jewellery, crystal and copper and their beautiful sparkles and reflections".
As you can see, opal changes dramatically with different lighting, so a triptych seemed the best way to share the different effects in this 5 cm cameo carved from a solid piece of opal.
I finally learnt to print to a custom triptych in LR! yay!
@m9f9l@lwain@aurorajane@missmercy Not the most photogenic object I have ever shot, - it seemed to 'move' right in front of my eyes as the light shifted through the stone while I was trying to focus!!
@ltodd You must have been busy posting this while I was writing my last comment. I love the way that opals seem alive, as the colours dance around in them ,so I can see why you had such trouble shooting it.
Thanks for being my get-pushed partner and for sharing your gorgeous heirlooms with us.
@aurorajane Lightroom (LR) is a software programme that can catalogue images as well as edit them, but the big difference to other programs is that it keeps the original image unaltered, so you can return to an image years later and re-crop or whatever editing you wish to do. I have felt like such a do-do while learning how to use it!
