I have a friend who is really interested in photography, and is trying to learn editing, but is having quite some difficulty as he is significantly colour blind! Knowing if something looks 'right' is even more challenging than for the rest of us!!
This is my attempt to experience how different it must be, and I was amazed at how completely lost I felt. Yes of course images with great tonal range in B&W would still look great - but, the world IS coloured - and what I see in colour is not what a colour blind person sees.

There are many things I would now change about this shot - such as the too shallow DOF, but the lesson learnt was a greater appreciation for just how challenging editing with colour blindness really is.
What an interesting exploration. I have taught several colour blind children who discuss what they can see compared to my view. It caused a few discussions during art time about colour. The perception of colour is a fascinating area for exploration.
I'd never before thought about the challenges of being a colorblind photographer. It's neat that you set a challenge for yourself to explore that a bit. Most colorblind people can see some colors, has he adjusted photos to what he likes, then found out if others agree?

I worked for a surgeon years ago who was color blind. Made the inside of a person totally different that what you or I would see.
