On Sunday night I stopped at the Carillion and found some great reflections http://365project.org/ltodd/365/2016-07-17 ( the ONS challenge is to take reflections on Tuesday... "missed it by that much")
Fast forward to Tuesday and I was hoping for some great sunset reflections in the water, but it was one of the days without any noticeable sunset, and more wind than I thought.
Then....I then realised I had left my CF card on the bench at home (DOH!) but luckily managed to find an old SD card in the car.
Then....while taking this shot, the sprinklers unexpectedly turned on and drenched my shoes!
Stunning. fav. Love the story, too and have to confess to laughing when your shoes were drenched. C'est la vie for people seeking perfection in their art.
Beautifully composed and edited. FAV! We've all been victims of our forgetfulness to replace the SD card back in our cameras. I carry multiples in my camera bag because of that!
@skipt07 first time I have done it! Worst part was that I consciously decided to not take my spare cards because I knew I had just cleared my main card and so had plenty of space on it! I also usually leave the battery cover open when I have the card out of the camera as a reminder, but I changed the batteries just before I got into the car - to make sure I had enough battery power! I will think of it as a lucky reminder not to take things for granted before the next critical shoot!
@deborah63 thanks Debbie :) It is a 30 second shot - I wanted to separate the texture of the building (sharp focus) from the clouds (by blurring with movement) by as much as possible. Wide angle lens & a fortunate direction of wind gave the lines leading to the building. ( there were other shots from the same spot that did not have the same effect. The difference in reflections is huge isn't it!
