A native terrestrial orchid - view on black if you have time.

I am preparing for my 2017 holiday 'extreme adventure' and have downloaded a free GPS app ( GPS Master) to auto-sync my images with the Lightroom map feature. After my 2014 holiday to Bolivia, I realised I did not know where many of my photos were actually taken - language barriers, no signposts or marked roads for 14 days and navigating by volcanoes, meant I rarely knew exactly where we were (+/- 200 km across the Atacama desert looks pretty similar day in day out without any significant landmarks!) . Next time I want to do better! Anyway, carrying the smart phone in my backpack while I was walking around today actually plotted exactly where I was for each photo! so it was GP-X marked the spot!
Excellent shot as always

Beautiful little dots of light on these petals, with a very artistic DoF. An "extreme adventure" sounds like a blast, too!

What a clever way to keep track of that kind of thing. It should be most helpful when you take all of you beautiful photo such as this one. The detail and composition are exquisite

Such a beautiful and intricate flower. Very clever idea to use GPS coordinates to keep track of where the pictures are taken.

Stunning on black.. I should have used that ap in Tasmania. I'm still trawling through the photos and thinking, where the heck was that . LOL..
So where is the 'extreme' holiday next year?

@rosiekerr @deborah63 a volunteering project in rural Kenya - half the time doing a photo-documentary for the charity and half the time providing education. It is going to be challenging on many levels, so I am needing to do a lot of preparation.

@salza I was surprised how well it worked Sally.

What an amazing next adventure. Hope you stay well. My daughter's last two trips gave her first malaria and then dengue fever. The grace, lighting, detail, dof are exquisite here
