Here (hidden in my extras album), is the weekly eyes theme shot I have been thinking about since last Friday. This is my first...well, I'm not sure what it is really,...but it is part of my 365 journey. :D
I learnt a great deal about processing doing this one - gradients, downloading, brushes, rar files, converting abr files to png then psp, etc etc...
(I know eyes has finished, but I wanted to tag this anyway. Actually looking at it now, I am not even sure this is abstract in the strictest sense - maybe it's really it own beginners-abstract-meets-fantasy genre (LOL))
Thanks go to Kylie D for being a patient eye-model, she'll never recognise herself!
i really like what you've done here... my favourite colours too! i'm guessing you are learning photoshop? it boggles my mind every time i try to use it! =D
@loopy12 thanks so much Lyndal. I did a course about 10 years ago so I could restore faded and damaged antique family photos. It has taken until now for me to (nearly) understand layers properly though, and finally getting to the point where I am in charge of the program (not vice versa) is a nice feeling.
I was really happy with the final outcome from a learning & processing perspective because it was done from scratch (no packet cake mix!).
This style of shot was on my personal 365 bucket list (tick), but I know people have strong opinions about mixing processing with photography. I believe they go hand in hand and there is a time and place for 'mixed media'.
I have also since been approached to create a personalised one for someone with lovely hazel eyes, so I now get to have another go at this style and refine some of the components.
