Mains Electric Cable

In this part of Thailand, very few mains electricity cables (wire) are burried underground and this photograph illustrates a pretty common sight. Frankly it worries me a little, but that said I have never seen a fire at any of these junctions.

That is unreal. I wonder how anyone works with those wires without being electrocuted.
