This was an owl at a wildlife exhibit at the state fair. A group that helps injured animals by caring for them and earning money to bring awareness.

Such a lovely photo! Thanks for the comments today on my site. This reminds me of a friend's three year old little girl named "Happy". She was obsessed with owls and we would look for literally 45 minutes at a time together on the internet at owl pics. :) Wish I could show her this one. :D

@Weezilou I have been very lucky at our local zoo, and at exhibits to be allowed to take photos. I use these as references for painting and just for the love of animals.

very cute :) i love that his eyes are closed ... are you sure its an owl? it looks a lot like a tawny frog mouth which looks quite similar but is not of the owl family.... just wondering :))

@taidster Thanks, This is an owl that was rescued by a wildlife person. I'm not sure the type but I'm going back through my shots to see if I can find the name. I really like the tawny frog mouth...great name. :-)
