Some of the snow has melted and they can graze again.. There were three more off to the side and everyone watched the crazy lady with the camera every minute.
Oh deer, hello! Another sign that spring is on the way!
Have to confess, I've got a love/hate relationship with deer. I love to see them, but I hate that they blend in so well with the trees - they're tough to spot at night, especially without good street lights, and I'm always afraid of striking one in the road.
just stunning Margaret - love the layers of colour and texture, love the natural colour themselves and the aliveness of the deer, and the framing of the tree on the left - fav.
@kchuk Elyse, I live in the middle of deer country. They are all around me. I love seeing them and even recognize some with certain markings, as they stay in a few mile area around my house. I have to say driving is worse here in Oct. in the beginning of deer hunting season. Then they all over. I have hit one and it was pretty horrible.
@hillcrest Cheryl, right at that moment they were 1/2 mile from my house in a field. I live in a wooded area and they count my yard as their territory also. They fed at my bird feeders at night during the winter.
Beautiful! I saw deer about a week ago, but they were gone before I could get a picture taken. I think the squirrels and birds told them to pose for you. ;)
Wonderful to see deer, I would have to travel to see them. It is great how they blend into the background. You are lucky to live there and get to see nature at her best, thanks so much for sharing all this.
Oh lovely - I have fallow deer as pets (much to the dismay of the hunters across the globe) and I love the delicate legs and big eyes of these beautiful creatures.

Their tails and ears are very distinctive as well. Great shot!
What a magnificent shot... they are beautiful!!!
