African Pied Crow. This is a bird at the zoo that has been injured and will remain there. I would love to see him free, but he can't survive on his own.
great portrait. It is instinctual to want birds to be free. Sometimes, though, a bird is injured, rehabilitated to full health but possibly without the ability to fly or perform their natural behaviors. They would die in the wild. Luckily we have places like Zoos that can keep them and care for them.
i never think of a crow as being a pretty bird, but this one is for sure! the way those feathers around his neck lay.......gorgeous detail in your photo!
Very interesting bird!! A local lady here has a Hawk Rescue....it's always fascinating going to listen to her stories and see a few of them in person. She has a few owls too. Beautiful birds!
Interesting! I've never seen a partially white crow before! I once rescued a native Australian crow once from some horrid kids that were throwing rocks at it. Aussie crows all have light blue eyes...
