These flowers are lining the sidewalk along with many more beautiful flowers throughout the season. A beautiful display of good gardening. The gardener is not a beautiful display of a person though. He always comes out to give me the stinkeye when I take pictures. Not aiming at his house. Not shooting in his windows. They are by the sidewalk. Of course my intention is to kill him with kindness. I smile and wave, compliment his flowers and ignore his obvious miserable attitude and keep taking pictures.
Lovely shot - Maybe you could give him a couple of your shots as prints and he'd be more amenable to your "admiration" of his work and realize in a way your share a like passion!
LOL! You are a girl after my own heart, it someone is miserable around me I always smile and chatter to them, obviously it is not my intention to annoy them further....................it just happens that some people are miserable;0) Lovely flowers
They are lovely and quite unusual looking. Such a shame he's miserable - the last time I took flowers in somebody's garden the owner happened to come out and although I was embarrassed he was delighted! He took me up and down the road showing me his favourites and telling me what grows well and what doesn't. There are some people you just can't help!
The last time I took photos of someones garden I took the photos and ran away. Admittedly, I wasn't taking a photo of something nice like these - their garden had been innundated with mushrooms! Not something I wanted them to catch me taking photos of...
Haha, love your approach. Not many people object when they see me taking pics of their flowers; they rightly take it as a compliment. Serves him right, old misery guts. And a gorgeous shot, too.
you will win him over Margaret!!! if he grows flowers this pretty, there must surely be a little soft spot in him. I know you will find it:)
this is a beautiful shot! i like seeing the dried up leaves along side the new spring growth.
@veekay Miserable/mean people are just screaming out for help Vicki. He was probably treated very badly as a child or by his lady love. That's no excuse to be sure, but some people find it harder to be nice than others. What he needs is love, love, love!
Good on you, Maggie, though he may not admit it, your smile and wave might be the only high point in his otherwise miserable day!
Ooh! I just had a thought! Perhaps you could print a few pics of his flowers and put them in his letterbox with something written on th back about how much you appreciate his greenthumb! :-)
