Bad kitty by maggie2

Bad kitty

I noticed the squirrels hanging upside down, trying to get a drink from my swimming pool this summer. The creeks in my area have dried up with no rain. So I put bowls of water all over my woods.
A feral kitty showed up for a drink of water, this hot, dry summer. I would warn my cat to watch out for the bad kitty in the yard, so the name stuck. I ended up watering a fox, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, birds and the occasional bad kitty.
Haha! Cute capture

Ooer bad kitty is a proper grump unlike you, who obviously has star qualities to look after all those wildlife animals. Gorgeous shot though, just had to fav

Sounds like quite the zoo you had there. What a mean look ;).

He looks intense... I would remove that camera asap! ;-)

Love your pov and I think that cat is beautiful. Poor little guy ... he needed a drink too! Awww ... I feel sorry for these cats who have to survive like that. I've fed and given water to a few of them too in my lifetime. And bless your heart for giving all of the other critters some water, Margaret. You're a kind person! :)

I can't help but fall in love with Bad Kitty. PS Did you know there is a whole series of kids' book about Bad Kitty? Here is a link to one of them: http://tinyurl.com/8jzge4a

Beautiful closeup!

@allie912 Allison, no I didn't know that. Thank you for the link. I call it bad kitty, but in reality, it's a lovely cat which I will provide a home for if it gets comfortable with me. (don't tell my hubby, he doesn't know yet :-) ).

@karenann Not to worry about this one. I will care for it now that it has found me. I'll give it a home if it becomes comfortable with me.
September 7th, 2012
@timandelke Elke, I took the close up so I could check and see if the scratch on it's nose was alright. I'll give it a home, if it chooses to stay.
September 7th, 2012
You've really captured his expression!
September 7th, 2012
He's a beautiful bad kitty and I hope he decides to take up residence with you; he obviously needs some kindness in his life.
September 7th, 2012
I just love those eyes
September 7th, 2012
Is this the bad kitty or your own? There is a look in the eyes that is not quite domestic!
September 7th, 2012
Aw cute bad kitty, I used to have one years ago that looked like this, we called him Tibbs :)
September 7th, 2012
What a handsome fellow... nice that he has a new "home!"
September 7th, 2012
@maggiemae Maggie, this is the feral cat. This cats look of apprehension is because I was near it as was my cat Broketail. It doesn't seem aggressive at all, just fearful.
September 7th, 2012
He does look a little mischievous! and cute too
September 7th, 2012
great fav
September 7th, 2012
Wow - I would happily welcome a fox and a deer to my backyard , not sure about bad kitty :-)
September 7th, 2012
I don't think you'll have any trouble taming him - he seems quite comfortable around you . He must know that you love animals!
September 7th, 2012
Tells me what a kind soul you have to look after all these animals and little critters.. great portrait of "Bad Kitty"
September 7th, 2012
intense eyes! glad your visitors enjoyed the water

Sounds like an exciting day in your backyard. What a cute shot of the stray cat...he looks too healthy to be feral. We have a raccoon in our backyard who hides under the deck all day so I can never get a photo.
September 8th, 2012
@cimes1 Carole, this cat was so skinny at the beginning of the summer when it first came. It was horrible. Now it's putting on weight and looking so much better. The temperament has changed also with the trust building. It no longer spits at me.

Pam
Such a cute bad kitty lol. How nice that you are caring for it:)
September 8th, 2012
aww he doesnt look to be in too bad nick for a wild cat.
September 9th, 2012
Awwwwww bless, it sure looks like a moody soul ;)
September 9th, 2012
what a beautiful photo! Are you sure it is feral? It doesn't have that vacant look I have gotten to know in the feral kitties. So glad you will give it a home (if all agree). :)
September 10th, 2012
@ellen Yes, I have been feeding it for 3 months and have progressively been able to get nearer and the kitty is starting to respond. In the first few days it looked a bit rougher.
September 10th, 2012
So you really are a kitty whisperer! I knew it!
September 10th, 2012
Lovely cat and photo!!!
