Bad kitty is getting closer, but not real friendly yet. He is now living in my outside porch. I can talk with him and feed him, but the few times I have pet him he spits and backs away. It's a slow process getting a cat to feel safe. I'm trying to get him in my house before winter. I'll just keep trying. Perhaps if I gave him a better name he'd like me more. :-)
Ahh ... I think that by the time Winter comes, he'll be a willing "adoptee!" I still think that he likes you alot .... but is slowly adjusting. He knows a good home and owner when he sees one. You'll both win in the end. LOVE the capture!!
I had my own Bad Kitty and while he wouldn't let me pet him, he did come into the house when he thought I was away from the room that opened to the garden. Then sadly one day, he never came back. Hope he gets indoors before it gets cold. Here's my "bad kitty": http://365project.org/nancyperry/365/2012-01-25
Bad kitty does have the look of still being wild, we had a cat come into our yard ,it had the most beautiful blue eyes, the 2 dogs and i were forever chasing it away, then one day when i was sitting out the back reading it just came and jumped on my lap, in the end the cat adopted us and the 2 dogs. they are all deceased now, but probably still hang out together.our new neighbours have 4 cats and spend more time in our yard than thieirs, just have to worry about our fish.
His expression does seem to soften a bit. Your story really reminds of the taming of the fox in the "Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exupery. Do you know it?
He looks quite sweet really and I'm sure he will realise how lucky he to have found you and come in! Great shot of him though. I like his stripey coat - it's really nicely marked
He doesn't look in bad condition - I'm sure a warm fire when it's cold out will soften him up! Our pension advisor said he visited a house out in the Fens (East Anglia - very flat, rural and sometimes isolated) and as he walked past the dining room he noticed a massive cat lying on the dining table. The owners said they would go in the kitchen as they couldn't use the dining room when the cat was in there. It clearly liked them as it brought them rabbits and hares and on one occasion - a deer (!!!) - but it would pounce and claw and bite if they tried to move it or stroke it. Your bad kitty is looking like Bambi in comparison!!
You could shorten it to BK, sorry if someone has already said this, playing holiday catch up; He will be in before winter, he is just letting you know who is boss
Lol Bad Kitty. For being an outdoor lonely cat, he certainly looks like he is eating well, lol. You are right about how long it takes for a cat to give his trust, keep at it, he will come around.
@wjw1741 Hi Warren, I've been feeding this guy since July. I started putting out water for the animals when the creeks dried up this summer and that's how I got him. He was so skinny then. Now he is pretty healthy.
