I love his gate and his house. I always feel rushed when I stop for a shot. Well, always being the two times that I have. Including today! I wish I could have taken my time. I didn't. I hopped out of the car took a couple snaps and drove off. I just feel like I'm invading their privacy. But I also think that if you put up such an ornate fence, you are going to get some gawkers. I want to go back to get another shot. :) This one does not give enough details of the gate.
That gate is really unique. You should just take the photo and if they ask what you are doing just tell them how much you love the design. Chances are they will tell take your time and stay as long as you need.

Wow that is where Stephen King Lives...OMG he is one of my favourite authors and to see his house looking so spooky too. Oh just excellent. fab gates. Errr and where is this again....
I saw this photo and I just knew you were in Maine too! What a beautiful house and unique gate. I'm his neighbor in the other place (fairly plain gate) and several of my past photos mention great things that the Kings have done for our little town and, in fact, the whole county. We are very grateful for all they do. I have not seen the Bangor house in person, but I am struck by how beautifully manicured it is.
@klh They certainly are a generous family. Bangor has been blessed with so many wonderful pleasures because of them. The Bangor house is gorgeous! I wish I could explore it.
