Originally, this was called Crook Hall and part of the Crook Estate. Old Crook Hall was on the site of a medieval manor house, and in the seventeenth century was the largest house in Whittle, with 9 hearths, but sadly no longer exists. New Crook Hall dates from the 17th century and retains some original features, but most of this hall was rebuilt in the early 19th century.
Today it is called Lisieux Hall, and since the 1930s has been owned by the Brothers of Charity who look after people with learning disabilities here.
