The Piece Hall, Halifax by marianj

The Piece Hall, Halifax

Built in 1779, this impressive cloth hall was for trading 'pieces' (about 30 yards) of handloom woven woollen cloth. It is the only remaining example of its kind in the UK. As it is built on a slope, there are three levels on one side and two on the opposite. It was renovated in 2017 and now contains indepedent shops and restaurants.
A lovely shot of this beautifully restored building. We have visited it many times over the years, and it looks better now than it ever has.

@fishers Thank you Ian. It has been a long time since we last visited and I was very impressed with its re-incarnation, although my memories of it before are hazy. Hard to convey it all on a photo...

Great composition Marian, I love the little tree spires and the church spire. I must go there one day.
