Built in 1779, this impressive cloth hall was for trading 'pieces' (about 30 yards) of handloom woven woollen cloth. It is the only remaining example of its kind in the UK. As it is built on a slope, there are three levels on one side and two on the opposite. It was renovated in 2017 and now contains indepedent shops and restaurants.
