On February 23, 2008 my Mom began her project of making four Cathedral Window quilts – one for each of her four children. On April 11, 2011 she completed the project and this weekend at my parents' 65th wedding anniversary party we each received our quilt. I am not certain where all of the fabric pieces came from, but I know that many are from clothing made for me, either by Mom or myself, and/or from dresses that my grandma made for herself. No matter where they started out, they ended up in a beautiful work of love and one full of memories.
what a wonderful gift, and great photo of it - my grandma made one years ago (don't know who inherited it), but it is still my favorite quilt pattern. Someday, I'm going to make one for me!
