Each day that my marigolds are still in bloom brings both a smile and a prayer to my lips... not just because they are such happy little blooms, but because of the person who gave them to us. Shortly after they were planted he was badly injured in a fall from a ladder (he is in his 80's) and is still in a convalescent facility... but getting stronger each day. So these little guys and their toughness to continue to bloom, in spite of the fact that they are not getting the best of care (have I mentioned I do NOT have a green thumb?), make me think of him and make me thank God for his toughness... and I pray I will continue to have Delbert's marigolds in my yard for many years to come.
