Inspired by @debsphotos... My sis @grammyn and me in an undated Easter photo, but Katy says we are 6 (me) and 7 (Katy). Apparently I was not old enough for hat and gloves... or I had lost them somewhere! :) Oh... and the shoes! I wore corrective (translate=ugly oxfords) and RARELY got to wear "cute" shoes... just on very special occasions!
@mstipe I'll wait to see what Katy says... she remembers better than I do! She may be able to tell where we were int his photo and that will give a good hint.
LOL! It looks like Clarkston to me and I would guess it was our second year there so..... yup 6 and 7 sounds better. I have to admit I totally don't remember this at all though! Thanks fo r showing it!
I LOVE this, Marilyn. I enjoy all the shots WE take on the project but it's nice to get to know our friends here a little and get a glimpse into their past. Thanks for sharing and glad I could be an inspiration for you to post this.
This is adorable! Coincidence, but yesterday I brought out some old b & w photos for my sons & grandson to see from Easters back in the 50s and 60s. Things were so different then. Thanks for sharing, Marilyn!
@wannabe Thanks, Catherine... It was a very big deal for me to be able to wear cute shoes... maybe that's why I have so many shoes now! :) My parents always told me I had to wear those ugly shoes because they loved me and wanted me to be able to walk straight. Well, I had a friend who was adopted and also very pigeon-toed and I told my Mom one day, "Susan's parents don't love her a much as you love me." Mom went into the whole adopted kids are just as loved as "natural" kids.. their parents chose them... blah, blah, blah. And I said, "No they don't because she is pigeon-toed and she wears cute shoes!" I totally bought into everything my parents told me! Very gullible or very trusting... :)
