Encroachment

Hmmm... Do I move the daffodils away from the shrub, or move the shrub to a location a bit further from the house foundation? Easier to move the daffodils, but probably smarter to move the shrub.

Love how the shrub and daffodils are intertwined! Yep...I'd just cut back the shrub!

I guess it depends on how big the shrub is going to get

@vskolnik I think cutting it back will work for a year or two, but eventually I think it will have to be moved... and eventually we will be older, so sooner might be better! :)

@digitalrn Well, when it is in full blossom it is pretty close to the foundation, so it will most likely need moving in the next few years... and we are younger now than we will be then! :)

@marilyn Yeah then you would probably do yourself a favor and move it sooner rather than later.

They are coming.

@meganc1 And I can hardly wait... I love daffodils... they are just so happy looking!

ours are just starting to come up.

Beautiful flowers!!! Move the shrub!
April 4th, 2013
@grammyn That's what I have planned... but it might involve moving the flowers, too, just because of the disruption of the soil.
April 4th, 2013
Wait until after they bloom and they should be fine!

What kind of shrub is that?
April 4th, 2013
@grammyn Not planning to do it today! And I suspect that digging up that shrub will dislodge some of the bulbs which is what I meant by moving them... just slight movement in the same bed due to the bulbs being dislodged.

@deburahiru It's a "pretty flowers when it blooms" shrub! :) We put it in years ago and I have no idea what it is. There are two shrubs on the beds on either side of the steps and right now I can't even remember if it is the one with white or yellow flowers... a gardner I am not!

Gorgeous!! I sooooo wish the flowers would start blooming around here! I love your choice of framing.
April 5th, 2013
@marilyn LOL! All you need to really do is enjoy them!

@elizabeth264 Thanks, Elizabeth... I am glad we had a few days of warm weather to get them started, but now we are having cold, rain and wind again. :(

Hmmmm...beats me? Hope this turned out well for the daffodils and shrubs!
