@ellida Thank you Graham. Where are you ? This is in the south west lakes. I parked in a lay-by next to the campsite in the village of Boot. I walked to a little bridge over the river and then followed the path up the hill. I didn't have a set route, as someone once said " I wandered, lonely as a cloud."
I just followed the sheep tracks and stopped if I saw anything interesting. I used the map when it was time to get down again.
I was up in the hills for seven hours, and never saw another soul !!!
The weather was quite kind for the lakes as well, cloudy but dry all day !
@markp I live in Gosforth, just 5 miles from there. Today I was very close to Boot, I parked up at the Jubilee Bridge and walked Harter Fell. Lovely day!
