This was taken from the ferry heading towards Shetland at Twenty past Two in the morning.
The closest bit of land was the small island called Fair Isle, that was off the other side of the ship and I don't think it was yet visible.
Behind us, to the south were some big dark rain clouds chasing us. This was the view to the north west from the ship.
The term " Simmer Dim " refers to the twilight around midnight in Shetland when the sun barely sets around midsummer.
