I was at New Brighton for about two hours watching the tide coming in and the waves getting bigger and wilder. There is a high seawall which the waves were hitting and being thrown back out to sea by the curved design, but the wind was carrying the water back inland. I was quite lucky and only got hit once, I heard it coming and bent double to protect my camera, we both survived, though my legs got soaked. This is the slipway for rescue craft and does not really have much of a seawall. leading to the waves smashing into it in quite a spectacular fashion. Perch Rock lighthouse which features in my other two albums today is just about visible in the spray of the large wave.
Incase you have not seen the lighthouse, the link below will take you back to my main album.
