This is a cousin to the Grey Wagtail, that has taken up residence in my garden. This was taken on the bank of the River Mersey, the mesh contains stones to help prevent bank erosion.
These might only be small birds, but they have developed a very clever habit. They eat insects, and if you keep your eyes open at car parks, and motorway service stations, you might just be lucky enough to see them flying up at the front of parked cars and grabbing the insects, moths and butterflies that have the misfortune to have hit the car.
