BAR TAILED GODWIT by markp

BAR TAILED GODWIT

A quick visit to RSPB Burton Marsh, resulting in seeing many interesting birds, Snipe, and other waders, including several rare visitors. Many duck species, I was told they reckon there are about 6,000 Teal there. I watched a Peregrine Falcon upsetting the flocks of waders, and spotted yet another Kingfisher. There were a few twitchers looking for a Spotted Crake which had been showing well for the last few days, but was hiding the day I went.
Unfortunately most of the interesting birds were a bit too far away, to get good photographs, need colder weather to bring them in closer.
There was quite a large flock of these Bar Tailed Godwits feeding in the water, but when they came in nice and close, the vegetation got in the way.
Great shot - I've never seen any of these - FAv
