Sleek and smooth, his feathers slicked back, this Great Crested Grebe was just about to dive deeply underwater in search of fish. They seem to spend a long time submerged and can cover very long distances. It makes photographing them quite hard at times. They will be right in front of you, dive, and emerge hundreds of yards away on the other side of the lake.
