This is the same species which is known as the Moose in the Americas. Again it ranged across Scotland, before being wiped out. This is part of a small family group. I believe that in 2008 a pair were released into a very wild and inaccessible area of Scotland. I don't know what has happened to them.

I was going to say Moose but interesting to hear of the name in Scotland. Several moose were released in Fiordland, NZ last century and they are still trying to find one!
