A Hover-fly taking part in the six word story competition.
This is a famously dangerous Asian Hornet. But great picture!!

@parisouailleurs Hi Helene, thank you very much for your comments.
However I am sorry, or maybe even relieved but its not an Asian Hornet, Vespa velutina.
It is a Hover -fly species. It is either a Drone Fly Eristalis tenax, or more likely I think a Tapered Drone Fly Eristalius pertinax.
There is an easy way to identify a fly as a Hover -fly species.
If you look at the antenna, Hover-flies have two little round ones, Hornets, Wasps have more little stick like ones. They are just visible in this image, by the "hands".

I know Asian Hornets have been spotted in the UK, in fact earlier this year one was found in Lancashire about 35 miles away from me.

Such a wonderful shot. So clear and well focused with great details. A superb macro!
The caption is perfect for the six word story!
Thank you for entering the challenge.
