Boombakspieker

This title consists of three words. ‘Boom’ means tree. It’s an oak growing through the roof. It did so when the shed had been left unused for many years. A spieker is an old Dutch word for grain shed. And the word ‘bak’ mean bake. A spieker became a bakspieker after it was upgraded with an oven to make bread. During renovations in more recent times the shed was rebuilt ‘for the eye’ with no regard to original details but the tree was left alone.
