Canadian knot
I tie my shoes with a simple but effective knot I learned by my Aunt, living in Canada, when I was little. I call it the Canadian knot, as strong as a double knot and untieable like a single one.
Cliche: excessive vignette.

can't find the exact method but something simular...
Depending on the lace start with a double start knot:

Next try the Two Stage Shoelace knot:
http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/twostageknot.htm
but with different steps: 1,2,3,4,5,2,3,4 and finaly step 5 and 6 from the normal knot:
http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/standardknot.htm
There are quite a few nice variations on the site!
