It may not have been the best conditions for a good looking black and white shot. Extremely low light: used a remote, a tripod and a very long exposure. I have no idea how to get things even remotely sharp in this sort of light condition. How to focus when you can't see clearly in the dark. Plus, it is pretty hard to stay still for so long!
During post processing, I also had difficulties with the conversion to black and white in photoshop. I couldn't figure out how to showcase the magical beams of the light coming through the window without making my face look all blotchy.
