164/365

Polka Dogs played at the Dakota in Toronto. Amazing show!

My shots were blurrier than I liked, even shooting at 1.8f at 6400 iso. How the heck do I fix that in the future? Is it the limitations of my lens (50mm prime, standard)?

Posted another photo from the evening as my outtake:

can almost hear it.

I love the soft feel of the shot and the lights in back. Isn't being a 1.8 going to factor in to blur? It is harder to get it all sharp and if someone moves, then blur...am I right?

The wide open lens does give a shallow depth of field so it's about focus points! However this is great.

@espyetta Yes, for sure the narrow DOF makes for lots of background blur and the need to be hyper accurate with focusing. And because of the low low lighting conditions, I didn't feel like I had much choice in settings. I had to use a very high ISO setting as well, and that makes for noisy photos. But I don't really know how to avoid this sort of shot in this sort of lighting condition. hmm!

@chippy1402 Thanks Peter! I don't know if it is my eye or the camera's but in this sort of lighting condition I find it very hard to *see* to focus. It appears to be focused but when I zoom in on the image, it is a little soft. I need to play around with setting options, I guess. Thinking that the high ISO is the biggest culprit here. Hmmm....
