Looking around for things that would work well in black & white, this collection of coloured markers caught my eye.
Here was an opportunity to try out different Photoshop black and white filters (ie: "green filter", "infrared filter") on mundane objects to see the dramatic effects of the conversion process on the image.
Additionally, I played around with individual colour levels to try to bring out an overall shape to the image. For example, I wanted the marker with the writing on it to be the darkest one in order to have it pop out as a subject.
