I'm not sure the history of this, but I suspect it has to do with the fact that I am standing in the driveway of a Mormon Church that goes through what was once yard for this house.

@cindy_k I think I made a pretty decent guess. I heard a TV show ad reference it a year or ten ago, but I missed the show so I never heard the story. I can't find it online.
