Derelict Church by megpicatilly

Derelict Church

I took this using my phone - want to go back with my DSLR and give it a 'gritty' feel. Always think it is sad when a church becomes derelict - this is a Victorian one and the much older one that dates from the mid 14th century, is still active.
Wow! What a lovely looking building. I totally agree with you. It is so sad to see a church go to ruin like this. We have a church near us (I've photographed it for my project, though it's not nearly as beautiful as this one) that has been ill treated over the years. Can you get inside? I'd love to see what it looks like. Will look out for another image from you. A fav for me :)

@paul10 Paul, thank you for the fav. Unfortunately, the church is locked with a bars in front of the door. It is up for sale with a local estate agent. I would imagine some birds have managed to get through the windows as the boarding is coming away. Look forward to seeing your church image when you can.

Such a shame! You can only imagine the stories it has to tell!

Lovely capture, but sorry to hear what has happened to the lovely building

@karens54 @cmp Yes, it is such a shame. It doesn't seem that long ago it was being used. Such a large church - at one time it would have been full.

What a beautiful building. Shame its not being loved any longer. Try snapseed - an app for andriod- it has a fun grunge effect to play around with.
