Abandoned Church II by megpicatilly

Abandoned Church II

Went back to the abandoned church today with my SLR - managed to get a closer look due to a stone in the wall crumbling. Technically trespassing, but it is Sunday so I think it's allowed! The windows are covered by metal sheeting, some of this is coming away on other windows. I wish I could get a better angle on this window, but it is high and I don't think there is enough space around it to allow photoshop to improve it, unless someone can tell me how?
Dark and beautiful at the same time

That is excellent. Works so well in monochrome and gives it a sort of Gothic feel

If you go into Image - Transform - Skew you can change the angle, although I like the fact that you are obviously looking up at it

This is very powerful just as it is. No shop needed.

@suesouthwood I did try that, but lose a lot of the image as it then has to be cropped!

@karens54 It is eerie - when you think of all the people who would have used the church. Quite sad.

Great shot Catherine, the monotone works well

The black and white makes for such an atmospheric shot Catherine

Instant fav for me. Old churches are one of my favourite subjects, old abandoned churches are even better. This window looks awesome, and even more awesome on black. I'm only jealous I don't live near it. Hope you post more of this, love it :)

Looks good to me. I would not change it - I like things the way they are.

There is a great deal of older architecture in the area we just moved to and I really look forward to photographing it, This is so well done and I really appreciate it black and white - fav!

Brett thank you for your kind comments and for the fav. I think old architecture is so interesting and in black and white, you can really push the contrast more than in colour. Have fun exploring!
