Easter Flowers by megpicatilly

Easter Flowers

I visited this tiny church in Newenden called St Peter's. The church dates back to the 13th century but there was probably a church here at an earlier date. After the black death in the 14th century, it was deemed too large for the population and a decision was taken to make the aisles narrower so that the building could be covered by a single roof. It is a lovely little church and my son has attended the Christmas Eve Mass on several occasions, lit only by candlelight. On my visit, the flowers were still fresh from Easter.
