The Hay Wain

This is the scene from where John Constable painted 'The Hay Wain' in 1821. The house on the left side belonged to a neighbour called Willy Lott (1761 - 1849). Willie was a tenant farmer who was born in the house and apparently didn't leave it for more than four days in his lifetime. The house is now called 'Willy Lott's cottage'. It is a beautiful place to visit, but unfortunately the light was very strong which makes this photo a bit washed out.
Looks like a beautiful place

@maskerade no I haven't- will give it a go. I tried to dull the yellows a bit as I thought they were a bit too bright but it looked very dull. Thank you for the suggestion I will try it.

It's always tricky isn't it, when you go to a great location and the light isn't right, but you don't have the opportunity to go back at a better time. I think this is a lovely image nonetheless
