Wife got behind one this morning while taking grandson to school. I somehow managed to see only one, going the other way, no stops. I may not be so lucky when I get back into my normal route and schedule on Friday.
These look like some new Thomas buses. I know a lot of school districts have regulations about the age of buses. I used to drive school bus until last year when they cut busing for Head Start in Mercer County.
@mittens - Not so much. With Head Start I had an aide ride with me. When I drove for one school in Sharon, I had two aides. But that was the first school they cut busing. The two aides really spoiled me. They kids were very well behaved. Their thinking was that it was in town so the students could walk. Then I drove two years at West Middlesex which is rural, but they cut all busing in 2011. My aide there wasn't as good and the kids got pretty loud at times. I told the owner I didn't want to be a regular school bus driver unless I had an aide. Of coarse the school districts and the bus company owner I worked for didn't want to pay any more then they needed to. So last year I called it quits.
@skipt07 Very interesting, Skip, and I certainly understand. Having aides sounds like a great way to handle things. It's a shame they discontinued having them.
