Bubble on a plant with snow by mittens

Bubble on a plant with snow

I thought I would try a frozen bubble shot like others are doing on here but I guess it wasn't quite cold enough for it to freeze. I was happy, though, that a bubble did stick to the plant long enough for me to get a shot of it.

Okay, I just saw that it says this was taken on Feb. 7 which is wrong. I took this today on Jan. 9. I think my camera date is way off. I better go and fix it.
Awesome shot

Wonderful bubble. I went out last night and tried, but it didn't work. Believe me it was definitely cold enough. I'll have to try again next week--right now it's only 18F, so it's not quite cold enough.

Great effect, so frustrating when the camera date changes, mine has done it in the past (the p&s); sometimes I just feel like giving up with technology :0)

Excellent Marilyn, at least you are trying different techniques.

Excellent! Do you do this with bubble bath crystals or a bottle of children's bubbles? My camera times are off, too and need to change right away. I keep saying that and never do. I hope your daughter wasn't affected by the flooding in Southeast Florida. Amazing that it rained so much there only in that part of the state/

@cimes1 Thank you Carole. I wanted to use a bottle of children's bubbles but didn't have any so I mixed some dishwashing liquid with water and found a kitchen utensil with a hole at the end of the handle and used it for the blower...and it worked. LOL My daughter wasn't affected by the flooding in Florida, thank goodness. She did enjoy having school canceled. :) Thank you for asking.

That is a BIG bubble! Wow. How cold was it when you shot this?I am curious at what temps they start to freeze instantly....or at all.

@espyetta Thank you MaryBeth. It was probably in the mid 20's F when i took this picture. The bubble didn't freeze so I guess it has to be colder for it to work. This is the only time I tried it.

@mittens I am thinking 5 degrees...0 degrees...something like that.

@espyetta I guess when it gets really cold again, I'll have to give it another try, although it may not get that cold again any time soon. Oh well.
