Little tree by mittens

Little tree

We went on a little getaway weekend trip over the weekend to visit Punxsutawney, PA and also the PA State Forests. This little tree was by a wall at the Punxsutawney Library. We did not see the Punxsutawney Phil groundhog there. I guess he is in hiding.

This is also for the pattern and textures theme.
I love the delicate tracery against the regular pattern of the bricks.

Pretty shot!! Punxsutawney .... lucky you! That place is on my bucket list to see, but it's got to be on Groundhog Day!

I had the opportunity to work in lovely Punsxutawney a few times over the years. Other than Ground Hog Day they pretty much roll up the streets at 5:00 pm. The first time we were there was for a week. On our last day all six of us decided to go out and have a big dinner at the local greasy spoon. I decided to have steak and fries. When they brought my steak it was a tough as shoe leather. When the waitress came back around to see how everything was, one of my co-workers said, "We think we found your ground hog." Of course we all laughed but she didn't take it too well!

@skipt07 I love your story, Skip. Too funny. It was very quiet there when we were there and it wasn't even 5 pm yet. LOL We saw no groundhogs anywhere. There was a window at the library where you supposedly could look in and see a groundhog but there was non in there either. I'm glad wen went, though, since we've never been there before.

This is a really pretty backdrop for the lovely pink tree. We have a few of these on campus that I've been trying to capture but the background isn't right.

@cimes1 Thank you Carole. If you do go to Punxsutawney someday, it probably would be best to go on Groundhog day. I don't think there's much activity there the rest of the year. Although for me, It sounds like it might be too crazy there on Groundhog Day. LOL
