Big Garden Birdwatch

My annual hour, gazing hopefully into my garden, for perhaps a goldfinch...or even (as has been seen!) a lesser spotted woodpecker... But alas, not this year. However, I feel I know all my visitors, personally, especially Robin...and Mr &Mrs Blackbird...and the Collar Doves...and...
A beautiful garden - I'm sure you have lots of feathered visitors to it.

your yard is gorgeous ~ beautiful landscaping. Do you record the birds you see daily? I see the pen and paper there ~

Oh and you have to look at Judith's previous shot to get the salmon connection! That did make me laugh out loud!

I love spending the time birdwatching but get a little sad when I think we had long tailed tits a couple of years ago and they don't come any more :o( xx

@sitiodown I'm a member of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds,Tari and every year they organise this Big Garden Birdwatch to help evaluate all kinds of bird statistics. You pick an hour over the weekend, then record all the birds you see actually in your garden. Its quite a revelation and I get so excited if anything unusual turns up.No such luck this year!

@busylady @busylady Ah! All is revealed! It can be a laugh can't it,taking some of these comments out of context! Thanks for your praise of my garden,I shall work all the harder in it this year...ha ha...

@jmj @twinsplusone @netkonnexion @princesicita So pleased you liked this shot, especially as my camera went into zoom system failure after I'd taken it,so the first shot had to do. Back to my old Pentax for a while...

@psychographer Yes,me too. In previous years I've seen many different species, especially finches, but nowhere to be seen these days and even my local RSPB group can't come up with an explanation. I think it must be food supplys change. They obviously are not aware of my little sanctuary....!!
