Out and about

The last of the "big girls" in our neighborhood graduated high school today.

Thing 2 wanted to make a surprise for Margaret when she came home from the ceremony today. She worked over an hour on it.
Then the rain came.
Then the penny size hail.
We thought maybe it would be a little runny since the precipitation didn't last long. Just a little bit of Nature adding her creativity to the process.

No. It was completely washed away. I felt so bad for my Thing. Especially since she used all the schools colors on the first display.

But what a little trooper. When she discovered it was gone, she just made a face of disgust, walked back home for more chalk and went back to make a quicker, simpler congratulatory message.
Her calm attitude with this setback doesn't really surprise me. This girl loves making lemonade by hand and is pretty darn good at it.
