Bibbulmun Track by narayani

Bibbulmun Track

Also from Sunday...as I wandered around the bush I realised I was on part of the Bibbulmun. It is a walking trail that goes from Kalamunda to Albany, a distance of 1000 km. These yellow markers point the way. It’s a challenging walk as you have to carry all your food and water. Shelter is in small huts along the way. It can be made a little easier by becoming a “Friend of the Bibbulmun” and someone will deliver supplies for you to the next shelter - definitely the way to go!
nice story of the Bibbulmun track. Is this near where they see Numbats?

@hrs I’ve never seen a numbat in the wild! But I’m sure they’d be around here somewhere 😊

Nicely captured Narayani, love the bark patterns. I heard on the radio today that a couple ( one in their 60s, the other 70s) were rescued from a flooded area of the Murray River on Tuesday.

I'm not sure I'd proceed if I saw a yellow sign with a snake on it. To me that would read Go Home Now! :)

@meotzi Ha - I never thought of that! It’s a depiction of the Rainbow Serpent from the Aboriginal Dreamtime, known as the Waugal

@merrelyn Oh! I hadn’t heard... I hope they were ok. When I went on the site just now they are giving flood warnings.

I thought it was a snake warning too! That’s a great system, certainly the way to go.

@meotzi I was with Caryn on this one @narayani ! looks exactly like a warning!
