Owen cannot yet read but once you have read a book to him a few times he can usually recite bits of it, so you can effectively take turns reading the stories and prompting him when he's not sure.
Both of my girls have done that - it's so much fun to read together. As they got better at reading, I got "worse" and needed help some of the "hard" words... lol.
cute - my sone does this - he can recite the entire gruffolo and tiger who came for tea withour even having the books! Glad he is starting to read now because they can get boring on the hundreth listen lol
Looks like O's enjoying himself - great stuff!
Lester and I used to take it in turns to read our 2 bedtime stories. When it was Lester's turn he always read then a rhyming story called Knox the Fox. It got so the 3 of them would recite it in unison. Our daughter says it's the only one she can remember hearing.
Reciting by heart is a good learning stage in reading. It helps them to learn that the written words always say the same thing, which we take for granted, but isn't obvious to a small child.
