Chanced upon an old photography book and saw a technique where a photographer suspended a small flashlight from the ceiling using a string, and used a long shutter speed to capture the streaks as the flashlight swung.
Attempted to do one myself and got some cool results. Try it, it's fun! :)
I saw a segment on a local program about camera throwing. She threw the camera up, using a slow shutter speed, and then would catch it. Sometime she dropped it. I'd try it only if I had something soft underneath in case it dropped.
Nice effect. You can also use the long exposure and do painting with a light source. Set up a still life and then during the exposure use a laser pointer and paint all kinds of designs, something like that.
