My flight was supposed to leave at 0420. Then the airline texted me and said the flight was cancelled and that I would be joining another flight 7 hours later.
Despite the hassle, I was giddy as I stepped up the plank to the A320 8 hours later. First, because I made it to the plane despite being 20 minutes late. Second, it was The Missus' birthday. I wasn't supposed to go because my schedule was really hard to move, but I powered through it and succeeded in moving work an hour and a half earlier so I could make it. I wouldn't miss Diane's first birthday after our wedding. Plus, it our friends' wedding too, so win-win. :D
When you're way above the clouds, the feeling is funny... because where you are is exactly how it feels.
