Anstruther Lighthouse

Anstruther Lighthouse is located on the west pier of Anstruther Harbour in the East Neuk of Fife.
Also named Chalmers Lighthouse, it was built in 1880 as a memorial to Dr Thomas Chalmers, a mathematician, political economist and leader of the Free Church of Scotland. Chalmers was born in Anstruther, and studied at St Andrews University.
It has a tapering octagonal concrete tower with moulded ventilators and windows. Moulded corbelling supports light steel railing. At top, cylindrical housing supporting lantern with domed top and ball finial. In front of tower is a modern steel post with pair of electric units.

Oh Fife in Scotland, was stationed at Rosyth Dockyards in the 60's and manged to get about in Fife, loved the place and this capture. FAV
