Iremongers Pond by oldjosh

Iremongers Pond

from the Trent near Wilford Toll Bridge a former canal basin, now a wildlife area is connected to the river via a short canal.
The left hand shots are of the canal leading to the river and the footbridge now under water.
The other two show the pond, water was over the banks in some places. In The top picture the flood defense wall and banks can be seen,
very interesting images Margaret, where is Wilford Toll Bridge?

@ianjb21 Thank you Ian. The bridge crosses the Trent south of the centre of Nottingham from the Meadows to Wilford Village. It was only used by pedestrians and cyclists but has been widened for the new tramlines. The little toll house now sells sandwiches and baked potatoes. A list of tolls is outside it cost 6d for any horse drawn vehicle so I wonder what the cost would be for a tram
