Lady Isabella by oldjosh

Lady Isabella

We visited the Laxey mine complex. The Lady Isabella is the largest working waterwheel in the world. 96 narrow winding steps lead to the viewing platform above the wheel, from this vantage point are views over Laxey to the sea and to Snaefell.
From about 1790 lead with a high silver content was mined here, copper and zinc were also found
